Short history
| Bega Electromotor SA, established in 1900, has a long-term experience in the construction of electric motors, being currently the largest producer of electric motors of medium power in Romania. The company Bega Electromotor originates in the Friedrich Factory, which produced subassemblies for locomotives and agricultural machines and in Britania Factory, which produced electric motors of average power. The Friedrich factory was founded in 1900 and, in 1904, through the association of the manager's brother, it changed its name in Brother Friedrich Factory. The Britania Factory was established in 1929. |
1944 marks the birth of the company Iron Industry by the merging of the two Factories. The new company would produce: rolls, milling machines, plants for the production of cooking oil, electric motors of average power, small compressors, etc. In 1948, through the nationalization of the Iron Industry company, the Electromotor Company is set up. In 1990 SC Electromotor SA is established as a joint-stock company, producing single-phase and three-phase asynchronous electric motors of general use, electric motors with brake, electric motors for washing machines and various other special motors.In 2000 the company becomes 100% privately owned and joins Bega Group. |
